Velha Universidade, university in Coimbra, Portugal

Velha Universidade is one of the oldest and most famous universities in Europe; founded in 1290 ! The building functioned in the past as a royal palace . Today lesson given by a whopping seven faculties: Arts , Law, Medicine, Science and Technology, Pharmacy, Economics, Psychology and Educational Sciences.

The university consists of several imposing buildings , the most impressive building the library.

If you want to go for a walk but dont know how gpx works, dont panic! all you need is an app on which you can upload the files and turns your smartphone into a GPS-device. When you go to the Apple Store or Google Play Store and search for GPX-viewer or track viewer, you will find many useful apps. Maverick is a free and good working app.

Palais Idéal – Hauterives, France: the extraordinary dream palace of Ferdinand Cheval!

Palais Idéal is not a real palace, but a remarkably eccentric structure. It was single-handedly created in a period of 33 years,  between 1836 and 1924, by a French postman named Ferdinand Cheval.  After the postman tripped over a stone, he got the idea to gather the stones, which he found during his work, and use them to build his own dream palace. In this palace, various styles have been applied: a medieval castle, an Arab mosque and a Hindu temple. There are also several figures displayed such as plants, trees, animals, people of different cultures, Julius Caesar and the goddess Isis. The palace never had a real function. Today it is a popular tourist attraction. Ferdinand Cheval wanted to be buried in his palace, together with his wife, but the local government did not allow that. As a result, he designed his own tomb, which is just as incredible as Palais Idéal, and can be found at the cemetery of Hauterives.

The Small Island Of Procida , Italy  

Procida a small island  in the province of Naples.
Here you can enjoy the view at the Gulf of Naples (Golfo di Napoli). On Procida you can find small streets and low traffic. Procida Island is connected by a bridge to the uninhabited island of Vivara.

There are two small port towns on the island: Marina della Corricella and Sancio Cattolico. The sights on Procida are nature on the island of Vivara, the port of Marina della Corricella and the abbey from the eleventh century.
